Dear Dave
Thanks for
convincing me to go ahead with the 70 ft. "Ultimate Obstacle Course"
and the "Sherk" bouncing
game for the MeritCare Children's Picnic.
I can not
express how much fun these games were for all those kids, and me!!!.
I did not do the Shrek but every parent whose little one played in
Shrek said they had to drag them out when the time came to go home.
As for the
Ultimate Obstacle Course I must have been challenged by the sons and
daughters of erery nurse, therapist and doctor who works at
MeritCare Childrens. Someone put in the MeritCare Internet
that I held the course record (course I had never done it before,
EVER!) but that did not matter. I walked in about 6 pm and was
challenged immediately by the 11 year son of one of our pediatric
oncology nurses. I ended up racing him five times at least.
I think
every kid there over 4 years went through it 20+ times. At
first the littler ones, like under 8 years watched the older 12 to
15 year olds go through, but pretty soon there were so many kids
going through the line waiting was huge fun to see.
Every
MeritCare Staff person who saw me that night or the next couple
weeks commented on how much fun it was for their kids, and the best
compliment of all came from the kids. Before I left all the
older ones asked if this course would be back next year.
Thanks again
for recommending these amazing toys for our picnic. Ther were
safe, easy for even littler kids and really fun.

The last
time we contracted with Dave Lerud for inflatable games for the
North Dakota Luthern Church-Missouri Synod Youth Gathering was in
October 2002. He provided seven games for two hours for about 275
teenagers and adult counselors. It was highly rated on the post
Gathering evaluations.
Dave
provided honest, attentive customer service from initial contact
through follow-up after the event. Set up had to be done in about
one hour in a hotel ballroom. Dave had the adequate staff available
to set up the games with time to spare. He provided games that were
engaging, clean, and in good repair.
He also
provided adequate training to those supervising the games so there
were no safety concerns. At our October 2006 event, with another
inflatable company, there were numerous students who went to the
first aid station with Velcro burns and game supervisors had several
concerns about whether they had been properly instructed about
attaching safety harnesses. In our previous event, Dave had provided
a current insurance certificate in at timely manner. In our October
2006 event, this wasn’t the case.
As Gathering
Coordinator, I sincerely appreciated Dave taking ownership of the
recreation time so I did not have to micromanage the logistics,
safety issues, etc. except to coordinate with hotel staff. Dave’s
knowledge and experience was extremely valuable in providing an age
appropriate, fun activity instead of going to a local YMCA for
recreation as we had in the past.
We are
looking forward to having Games Galore host an inflatable games
recreation option at our 2008 Youth Gathering when we return to
Fargo.
